Snorkeling in the Canary Islands
If you are the type of person that loves the water, the ocean and like to do different things then snorkeling in the Canary Islands is the thing for you. The Canary Islands have around 1,491 kilometres of coast were you can snorkel if you want. The Canary Islands usually have very pleasant temperatures. This is due to the different temperatures in the north and in the south causing there to be an ideal temperature in the Canary Islands. This waters are almost crystal clear and are perfect for snorkeling. Depending on the time of year that you are going to there might be different marine species such as tropical or subtropical from the northern part of the Atlantic ocean or species from the Meditarranean. Due to the recent problems there have been in the eco system the Agriculture Ministry has decided to have many marine reserves in the ocean and there plans for more in the near future. If you are interested in visiting one of the Canary Islands the best one to go to is the islands of El Hierro which turns out to be perfect because it has very accesible prices and there are only 200 people living there the whole year round. They recieve around 3,000 tourists more that go there to snorkel than Tenerife and Lanzarote. Remember that if you want to go and scuba-dive then you must have a license to do so. This is done by attending a special course previously. If you wish to scuba-dive where the marine reserves are located you must get special permission to do so 15 days before your scheduled trip.
